On february 21, USAID RFE coordinator Irina Lindberg and Pol/Econ Officer Dan Kronenfeld represented the Consulate at a press conference organized by the League of Primorye Credit Brokers that received a grant from the USAID-funded "Our Rights" program. The grant will help the League in its efforts to promote transparency in the local credit market and advocate for consumer rights. League representatives noted that currently there are no agreed-upon "rules of the game" in the credit market, and many unscrupulous lenders and brokers take advantage of consumers. The grant was supported by both regional banks and by the Primorye legislature and government agencies that are responsible for enforcing fair business practices.
