Radmilla Cody at domestic violence roundtable. | Public
Affairs Vladivostok teamed up with the local American Bar Association / Rule of
Law Initiative to organize a roundtable discussion on domestic violence issues
on April 16. Seventy-five faculty, students, and NGO representatives interacted
with U.S. Speaker Radmilla Cody who spoke about the role of advocacy in addressing
this global problem. Radmilla Cody, a survivor herself of domestic violence, shared
stories from her own experience and explained best training practices currently
in vogue in the United States. The session included a Q&A session and generated
further dialogue on the role of civic activism, advocacy, and the importance of
governmental and NGO collaboration. The Pacific State University of Economics
hosted the event, one that generated positive feedback from participants and law
majors.
