Vladivostok Students Celebrate 75th Anniversary of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal

On February 19, U.S. Consul General Tom Armbruster and Public Affairs Officer Bridget Gersten took part in an academic conference at the Far Eastern National University. The theme of the conference was "Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal: The 75th Anniversary". The CG gave welcoming remarks to an audience of 100 students and professors who specialize in American history. Participants attended from about a dozen institutions from around Vladivostok and the Primorye Region. PAO led a graduate student roundtable that featured papers comparing the New Deal period with modern Russia. The event was covered by Vladivostok TV.
