The Center joined hands with the Vladivostok Teacher Training Institute, gathering over 60 teachers and students from many secondary schools of Primorskiy Kray to discuss human rights in the Asia-Pacific Region. U.S. Consul General Tom Armbruster welcomed the participants, together with the representative of the Primorye Human Rights Office, Mr. Nikolay Shugay. Public Affairs Officer Bridget Gersten offered insights into the role of tolerance in civil society, using a Russian version of the IIP Power Point presentation Diversity in the USA. The two-day event touched on hot human rights topics, including the situation in Tibet and local migration challenges.
