U.S. Presidential Election Discussion Enthralls Youth in Russian Far East

PAO Bridget Gersten inspires Ussuriysk students.

On February 12, Vladivostok PAO Bridget Gersten addressed 75 students and faculty members at the Department of Foreign Languages at Ussuriysk State Pedagogical Institute. Her presentation, entitled How the Race is Run: the 2008 US Presidential Election, captured the spirit of the political process as illustrated in the 2008 race to the White House. The presentation was part of a regional public diplomacy outreach program that featured former NBA Coach Tom Newell, who spent a week in Vladivostok and its environs to deliver a very well-received sports diplomacy program organized by PAS Vladivostok.
