Vladivostok History Coming Alive

From October 12th to the 27th, Ms. Birgitta Ingemanson, well-known researcher, author of a prize winning non-fiction book “Eleanor Pray:  Letters from Vladivostok 1894-1930” and professor at Washington State University was invited to Vladivostok to celebrate the 110th anniversary of the Far Eastern State University. During her visit, Professor Ingemanson conducted a series of presentations for students and the general public on Vladivostok history. Ms. Ingemanson also met with representatives of local museums, universities, and related government departments. Participants discussed various projects related to restoring the historic sites and souvenirs of an earlier Vladivostok. Together with her Russian colleague researcher Dmitriy Ancha, Professor Ingemanson arranged a special city tour for interested residents;  the guides shared century old historical facts and legends of old Vladivostok. This visit by Professor Ingemanson not only strengthened ties between Russia and the USA, it launched a number of innovative joint projects.
