How Many Cocoa Beans are Needed to Make One Kilogram of Chocolate?
Consul General Tom Armbruster was on hand to promote American chocolate and discuss this and other cocoa matters at the Arsenyev Museum’s two-day Chocolate Festival in Vladivostok on July 10. The Consul General made opening remarks at the festival, briefly outlining the history of chocolate and highlighting American producers’ confectionary prowess. Several countries set up displays presenting their own countries’ contributions to the world of chocolate, and the Consulate provided 25 pounds of Hershey’s Kisses which were eagerly sampled by participants. Political Officer Stephen Kovacsics conducted an audience-participation chocolate quiz with children the following day. The answer to the above question: about 900 beans.
