Vladivostok Consul General Welcomes Participants of Marine Ecology 2007 International Conference and Clean Port Expo in Vladivostok

On October 3, Consul General Armbruster welcomed participants at the Marine Ecology 2007 International conference and Clean Port expo in Vladivostok. The event was organized by numerous federal agencies, businesses, educational institutions and ecological organizations to address environmental concerns in Russia's largest port on the Pacific. The exhibition and conference covered a large number of issues, including monitoring, rational management and protection of water resources; development and implementation of modern technologies for the prevention and remediation of pollution; and recycling of waste. It also offered a unique opportunity to demonstrate the latest technologies, equipment, and services in the emerging RFE market. The experts from different countries presented reports on environment problems in marine areas, complex processing of raw materials, and ecological education. The U.S. Commercial Service displayed catalogs of U.S. firms involved in relevant sectors.
