Promoting Ideas of Corporate Social Responsibility in the Russian Far East

As a follow up to the discussions on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) climate in the Russian Far East (RFE) started at the Forum on Social Investments within Asia-Pacific Economic Congress in Vladivostok last July, the RFE Affiliate office of the New Eurasia Foundation (FNE RFE) launched a new initiative on promoting ideas of CSR in the RFE, in the format of "morning talks". On October 24, PAO Bridget Gersten, her spouse Tim Fitzgerald, and USAID Program Representative in the RFE Irina Lindberg took part in the business breakfast in Vladivostok where 15 representatives of local companies, the banking sector, the press, and NGOs discussed the role of CSR development within Russia's corporate strategy, from local businesses' perspectives. Achievements and concerns for incorporation of CSR international standards into everyday business practice were discussed during the presentation of the company Vladbeer's experience in this area.
