Drag Racing Revs up Vladivostok American Corner Patrons
On May 26, Bruce Sherry, Vladivostok Consulate Information Management Specialist, visited the Vladivostok American Corner and made a presentation about drag racing in the United States. He talked about the history of drag racing, explained its basics, strategies and methods, and showed a short movie about a race in which he himself took part. Bruce, a member of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) in the United States, along with his two sons, are real fans of this sport. While serving as diplomat in Vladivostok, he has attended local drag racing events sponsored by the Drag Racing Club of Vladivostok. After the presentation, Bruce was asked a lot of questions, from the etymology of the term “drag racing” to the difference between drag and street racing.
