Vladivostok Consulate General Supports Educational Fair

On October 26, American Councils in Vladivostok combined forces with the American Corner, IREX, and the U.S. Consulate General in Vladivostok to launch a day-long educational fair. The goal of the event was to promote education opportunities, exchange programs, and grants available to Russian students. Vladivostok PAO Gersten welcomed more than 100 attendees, sharing her international education experience and encouraging young students to expand their academic horizons by applying to overseas colleges. Consular Officer Eric Heyden provided first-hand information about the types of American visas for students and destroyed the myths of the overwhelming impassable procedures of getting an American visa. American Councils and IREX gave very detailed information about application procedures, exams, and financial support existing at the American universities.
