USAID Partner and Think Tank Organized “Strategies of Russia 2020” Event in Saint-Petersburg
On October 20-21, USAID Officers and Partners (including those from the RFE) participated in The 7th All-Russia Forum on Strategic Planning in the Regions and Cities of Russia organized by USAID partner and Think Tank NGO “Leontief Centre” in Saint-Petersburg and supported by the Ministry for Regional Development of Russian Federation. About 1000 participants from the regions and municipalities of the Russian Federation met to discuss a variety of issues and top-down regional plans related to strategic planning and focused on economic development. The “Strategies of Russia 2020” event aimed at supporting the development of a common vision for the system of strategic planning in Russia, to share international best practices experience and strategic planning tools, and to improve the coordination of sector and territorial priorities of state regional policies in the context of long-term Concept of Development in Russia till 2020.
