Visiting Fulbright Scholar Kevin MacCaughey Continues Outreach in the Russian Far East
On December 6-12, visiting Fulbright Scholar and former English Language Specialist in the Russian Far East Kevin McCaughey continued his outreach in Amurskaya Oblast and Jewish Autonomous Region of the Russian Far East. During his presentations, Kevin shared new ways of training language skills using Internet resources and tools. He generously shared his own resources and subscribed more teachers to his regular electronic newsletter. Hundreds of English teachers and students from the region attended his presentations and seminars. During his visit, Kevin gave several TV and newspaper interviews. In one of the discussions, Kevin noticed that the English language is becoming so ubiquitous during the past two years that it's difficult to find a single person who does not understand or speak English even in the remote villages.
