LIDER Program Fosters Youth Leadership Skills in Khabarovsk and Amursk Cities

On November 24, Irina Lindberg, USAID Program Representative in the RFE, visited a USAID-funded youth leadership workshop in Khabarovsk. Conducted by Winrock International under USAID’s LIDER project, the workshop aimed to connect young people to their communities and boost their participation in local governance and advocacy. In her greetings to seventeen youth participants, Irina stressed the innovative feature of this program as a cross-cutting USAID initiative, with its values expressed in the Russian acronym LIDER: Leadership, Initiative, Action, Unity, and Results. She also commended the project for the pioneering work they are doing, with active youth participation and through social partnerships with state, private, and NGO sectors, to address major issues facing youth in the region.
