Vladivostok-USA Shared History Gets in the Readers’ Top List at the 10th Non/Fiction International Intellectual Book-Fair in Moscow

On December 10, PAO Gersten took part in the press conference hosted by Primorye Arsenyev Museum and the publishing house “Almanach-Rubezh” to report on the results of their participation in Russia’s biggest book fair in Moscow on October 24, 2008.  Dr. Birgitta Ingemanson, the US historian and the inspirer and author of the whole project presented the book “Eleanor Pray. Letters from Vladivostok” to Moscow audience.  In her presentation Dr. Ingemanson charmed the readers and the guests of the fair by the history of Russia of the early 20th century through the eyes of Eleanor Pray, a common American woman who by virtue of destiny found herself in Vladivostok and shared her everyday experience in her letters and photos to relatives.  Almost a century later this unique personal collection became a precious gift to Vladivostok and Russia proving that face-to-face communication is the best way of diplomacy that keeps peoples together in peace.
