Open World Celebrates its 10th Anniversary in Vladivostok
On July 30, alumni and coordinators of the U.S. government exchange program “Open World” celebrated the program’s 10th anniversary. At the reception arranged by OW coordinators, alumni shared their impressions and memories of America and stressed the importance of this program as a great tool in strengthening people-to-people relations between Russia and the United States. Teachers, doctors, local government officials, and journalists all agreed that the experiences they acquired in the United States made great contributions to their professional and personal lives. Acting Consul General Patricia Miller welcomed the participants and emphasized the Consulate’s support of all exchange programs. OW coordinator Yelena Yefremova provided impressive statistics dealing with Open World exchanges, and assured the guests that this program will continue.
