Training for Trainers-3 Focused on Domestic Violence was Held in Vladivostok
On October 22, Irina Lindberg, USAID Program Representative in the Russian Far East, participated in a "Training for the Trainers" session on the subject of domestic violence. The training, conducted by the Vladivostok office of the American Bar Association/Rule of Law Initiative, provided local attorneys with information on psychology and Russian and international law, as well as methods of distributing their knowledge throughout Primorye. Special attention was paid to gaps in Russian law that may be covered by international law and legal instruments, including the European Convention on Human Rights, the European Court on Human Rights, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, and others. Practical exercises, including the development of legal arguments using international law and employing interactive teaching skills to discuss domestic violence, were also conducted.
