U.S. Firm Moves Russian Coal to Market

Heyl & Patterson, a U.S. firm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has installed the first of two rail car tipplers in the Russian port of Vostochniy. The tipplers take two rail wagon cars and literally tip them over, spilling the coal over side. The tippler handles 100 ton loads with ease. The American made equipment will help Russia export more coal from the port and is a bright spot for both economies during the crisis. The 7$ million sale involved negotiations in both countries, with both sides saying they have become good friends in the process.  The Consulate’s Foreign Commercial Section and the Consul General supported the American company’s visit to the Russian Far East.
