Tom Till Takes Ussuriysk Kids to the Trip around the Globe
On August 13, Acting Consul General Patricia Miller and Public Affairs Officer Sylva Etian, along with Ussuriysk city administration representatives, opened the photo exhibit of UNESCO’s world heritage sites by American photographer Tom Till. The Ussuriysk municipal museum hosted the exhibit to the delight of children from a nearby summer camp who were among the first guests to see the exquisite photographs. The children truly enjoyed the “traveling to far-off places” through the photos, and asked the organizers numerous questions. Sylva Etian used the opportunity to present English language materials and e-journals to the educational department of Ussuriysk. During their outreach to Ussuriysk the Acting CG and PAO visited a unique bear shelter, nature preserve, and a USAID supported project, the “Soldat” Foundation. The visit was covered by media and served as a great opportunity to promote mutual understanding between Russia and the USA.
