Vladivostok City Administration Hosted USAID-Funded Training Seminar
A two-day training seminar entitled "Budget and the Budgeting Process at the municipal level during the World Economic Crisis" was held on September 22-24 in Vladivostok. This workshop was organized by the Center for Fiscal Policy, Moscow, and the Vladivostok City Administration within the USAID-funded program. The program hosted 70-80 regional financial authorities, heads of local administrations, and heads of financial agencies of municipal and urban districts of the Far East Federal District. The event addressed the issues raised by the world economic crisis as well as its influence on the socioeconomic development of Russia and its regions; intergovernmental fiscal relations in the regions during the world economic crisis i.e. adjusting goals and utilizing tools for improvement; quality requirements (standards) for providing municipal services. During the round table, participants had ample opportunities to share their experiences in regional finance management.
