Public Affairs Officer Meets with Coordinators of a Joint Russian-American Project for Law Students

On October 2, Public Affairs Officer Bridget Gersten met with the representatives of the University of Wisconsin in the U.S. and Far Eastern National University (FENU) in the Russian Far East. These institutions have engaged in a joint project for law students since 1997. The project was initiated with the assistance of USIA and has become sustainable over the years. Since 2004, the course has a semester-long program with classes held through DVC technology on a weekly basis, during which students on both sides discuss various issues of international law and business. Since that time, more than 20 professors from FENU have participated in exchange programs at the University of Wisconsin and over 30 students have received certificates about their successful completion of the course.
